Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering Department runs UG program with intake of 60 students approved by AICTE, New Delhi with effect from 2008-09.The department is equipped with dedicated and competent faculty members to impart quality technical education, project guidance, and personality development to enable students to be placed with reputed organizations. The department has well equipped laboratories such as Automation in Production, Mechatronics, Heat & Mass Transfer, Hydraulic Machines, IC Engine, Mechanical Measurement, Metallurgy, CAD and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning etc. Mechanical Engineering Workshop caters to the training requirements of all the departments.
Electrical Engineering
Presently the department is running the undergraduate Course starting in the year 2010 with intake of sixty. Electrical Engineering broadly involving electricity, electromagnetism and electronics is essential in modern human life and industries. The present day academic activities of electrical engineering are very broad with this due reason. The electrical engineering department at NIT, Nagpur has specialized faculties in all important areas of electrical engineering such as integrated power system, Power electronics & Drives, Power Electronics & Power System & Non-conventional Energy sources. The academic activities in the department focus on the frontier areas of electrical engineering. The department encourages students to develop new project ideas, which will be useful in day to day life.
Information Technology
The Department of Information Technology, at the Nagpur Institute of Technology Nagpur, came into existence in 2008 with the student intake capacity of 60. The aim of the department is to provide quality education and training the students with dedicated young energetic faculty members, technical staff, well equipped laboratories and innovative academic processes. The Department is equipped with excellent computing facilities. The laboratories are available to enable students work on independent projects and to gain hands-on experience. Since its inception, the Dept. of Information Technology has been strengthening its resources and providing state of the art facilities to foster the spirit of learning and development of professional skills.
Computer Science and Engineering
The Major focus of CSE Department lies in making students expert practically in cutting edge technologies, so to achieve this goal we are making every effort to include Industry Professional Domain Expert in all possible processes (like Major/Mini Project Evolutions, Seminars, Workshops, webinars, online course completions etc.) For the overall development of students we make efforts to develop the reading habits & develop their interest in verity of technical topics, keeping this in view the department has every months Newsletter where in Last page is totally dedicated to students (aka Students Corner, where students write on the technical Topics).
Civil Engineering
Civil Engineering was started in the year 2010 with an aim to contribute towards the rapid infrastructural growth of the region by producing Sanguine Civil Engineers. Since its inception the Department is taking deft in making “Excellence – a Practice and Habit”, in its entire working domain; be it academics or administration. The Department is committed in producing talented students with excellent performance in Extracurricular Co-curricular activities like Projects, Seminars, Workshops and Participation in Technical events. Faculty members are encouraged to attend Faculty Development Programme, Workshops, Seminars and Conferences to enhance their knowledge.
